Anyone reading this please say a special prayer for my Aunt Becky and Uncle Bud Cribb from Camilla and their families. Most of you know her from Westwood since she was the High school receptionist since it opened.
Their daughter Kim Cribb was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in late August and had two successful surgeries over the past 2 months and is now on chemo and radiation. Everything looks good!
Their oldest son Sheryl Cribb (in his 40s) lives in Woodstock. His youngest daughter (age 5-6??) fell out of a second story window last night on to concrete at their house. She was taken to Egleston in Atlanta and is pretty broken up.
I have very little details on Alysa's fall, but would greatly appreciate your thoughts being with them at this time.

Almighty
I have been really praying for patience lately but it seems that I just think more and more about how I NEED TO BE PATIENT instead of actually gaining patience.
Enter Evan - We were watching Evan Almighty on Sunday and there is a part where "god" explains to Evan that when you pray for something from God he doesn't give it to you because that would just be too easy. Instead he gives you a situation where you can learn to gain what you need. In the movie's case, how to bring a family together. Well, duh! Over the last couple of days I have really been thinking about how this is an opportunity for me to learn how to be patient and just trust that things will be alright. Patience is needed everywhere in life - work, home, family, learning something new, driving in Atlanta.....I could go on for hours.
Thank you God for putting that movie in front of me. Sometimes I really need you (or in this case Morgan Freeman) to speak directly to me before I get it.

Birthday Gift

Some of you have children, some have dogs, and I have my Kitchenaid Mixer. I am so excited about my new mixer. Did you know that you can make 9 dozen cookies, 6.5 pounds of mashed potatoes or 5 loafs of bread with this thing at one time? Is that not the coolest thing you have ever heard? Wish me luck as I try out new receipts!
Birthdays Are Fun
As most of you know, my birthday was last week. I turned 28 on July 31st and was reminded OFTEN that 30 wasn't very far away. I just wanted to take a minute to thank you all for making my birthday special and then brag a bit on my boyfriend.
First, thank you for all of the calls, cards, emails, text and facebook wall posts! It was great! For those of you who were a few days late, it just made my "special" day last that much longer.
Second, time to brag. When I came home from boot camp that morning, I found Brenton in the kitchen cooking me breakfast. He had made it a point to ask the night before what was for breakfast (I usually make it for us both) so that he would know what to make for me. He then gave me the sweetest card ever made (I am suspicious it was custom order b/c it was so perfect) with a shopping gift certificate. Of course the gift certificate said we had to go shopping together which means more time for us to spend together! About three o'clock that afternoon, as an auditor sat at my desk, I was delivered the BIGGEST vase of MY FAVORITE flowers! Brenton has never sent me flowers so I was so shocked. Everyone at work kept coming into my office to smell them the rest of the day. That night we went out to dinner and then Brenton took me to Publix so that I could get a slice of my favorite dessert, coconut cake.
I am a big believer that you should feel special on your birthday, and all of you made my day the most special day of the year! Thanks
p.s. post coming soon on my favorite birthday gift
